Weird, the two boxers I've had both blew head gaskets. EJ25 and FB25 and then itis too expensive to fix because youx need to pull the whole engine out. Not very reliable in my experience.

2018 Forester 55K miles. There is zero water coming out that drain hose, front floors are dry on both sides. Car has no bad smells inside. The drain hose is clear. I removed drain hose and ran a wire in the housing 6 inches and it's all clear. What next? Thanks for the videos

Doesn’t make any sense, expensive, twice the complexity, increased maintenance, increase weight and most hybrids do not have fuel efficiency of a decent small displacement turbo or full electric. The worlds moved on with software defined electric vehicles same as when we moved on from flip phones to smart phones.

I own both (including a '78 BRAT). Subaru wins on AWD for sure. Engines though?... The OLD boxers (like the 2.2) were great, the 2.5 though?! Eesh! 😢. I'll take the 2.5 on my Scion over it everyday. The 2.4 has promise. Yes, Subaru is a cult. The Eyesight system is a nanny add-on that I would prefer not to have. Just more expense and things to go wrong or interfere with my driving. Gearboxes though... my 2014 Scion Tc's gearbox (6-speed manual) and clutch are a 1000x better than Subaru's. I test drove a 2012 WRX last week and it's shifting was trash compared to my Scion. Subaru is a shadow of it's former self IMO. They need to lose the stupid plastic body cladding and social justice warrior cultist attitude and refocus on making great cars. Can we get a 6-speed hatchback STI back please? And a Legacy GT Wagon (also 6-speed) also?

Separate subject. My new 2024 Outback will not allow you to speak through the car for longer than two minutes. You have to move to cell phone and back to car. Is this an update issue?

As of 6/26/2024 my sister 2019 Crosstrek 2.0 L just had a head gasket leak (oil and coolant mixing) @ 97k miles. Maintenance was properly done in the dealership, and she had a recent oil change a month after this gasket started to leak. Subaru dealership wanted $6500 to replace the gasket, but we decided to go to a known Subaru performance shop and got us a used 30k mile JDM engine. Coolant hoses and radiator were also replaced and it will only cost us $5500 for everything. It sad the this gasket issue still happens on the 2.0L engine used for the Crosstrek.

The valve body is the culprit, not the CVT itself.

Look, my local Subaru dealer is actually pretty good, if not typical stealership expensive. But I much prefer my local independant mechanics, former factory Subaru, Mazda and VW specialists who know these things inside out and don't spend their days ripping off their customers. Best advice for any make vehicle, not just Subaru, find a high rated independent mechanic, preferably one who specialises in your make of vehicle, will talk to you in plain english, recommend what needs attention now and what can wait and then wonder how the hell you ever did without them.These are the people you want working on your car, not some newbie who has NFI what they're doing and who doesn't yet care for the quality of their work.

I owned a Subaru once, never again. Subaru is not a reliable manufacturer. I will stick with Honda or Toyota. Besides, almost no one needs all wheel drive. I live in a norther state with winter driving, front wheel drive is all that is needed.
